Queensland Film Financial Incentives
There are many benefits that make Queensland the most attractive place in the world to film your next project, including ways to significantly reduce below-the-line costs. Queensland crew rates and other production costs lower than most international and Australian locations, and theFederal Government, Queensland Government and the local councils have worked hard to ensure location access costs are amongst the most competitive globally.
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TAX INCENTIVES
15% Location Rebate
All eligible productions that spend at least $15 million in Qualifying Australian Production Expenditure (QAPE) ie effectively productionn expenditure incurred in Australia during filming, will be able to access the 15% rebate. Eligible productions include feature films, telemovies and television mini-series.
Further to this minimum requirement there are two categories of eligibility:
1. If the value of a film's Australian production spend is between AUD$15 million and AUD$50 million the producers will be required to spend a minimum of 70% of total film production expenditure on film production activity in Australia.
2. Any production that spends AUD$50 million or more in Australia will qualify regardless of the percentage of total film expenditure in Australia.
Post Digital and Visual Effects (PDV) Incentive
A complimentary 15% rebate is available for PDV projects that spend at least AUD$5 million in qualifying PDV production spend in Australia, whether or not the film is shot in Australia.
This incentive will operate as part of the Location Rebate. Eligible QAPE for the purposes of this incentive will be any PDV activity related to the production of eligible feature films, telemovies and television mini-series.

QUEENSLAND GOVERNMENT INCENTIVES
The Queensland Government is committed to the development of the film and television production industry and as such, provides a range of assistance, both non-financial and financial, through the Pacific Film and Television Commission (PFTC) to productions filming in Queensland.
Non-financial assistance
The PFTC offers free advice and assistance regarding any Queensland location. If your project is "greenlit" and has secured finance, you may be able to access the PFTC's service, which includes:
1. A profressional breakdown of your script;
2. In-depth research in relation to your production needs;
3. Supply of a hardcopy and digital pictorial presentation from PFTC's extensive database of
Queensland locations;
4. Provision of a professional Location Manager as part of our location scouting service.
Financial Incentives

Queensland crew rates and other production costs are lower than most international and Australian locations and the Queensland Government and the local councils have worked hard to ensure location access costs are amoungst the most competitive globally.
