Step out in Southport
Be a legend in your own lunchtime
Gold Coast City Council, supported by Australia Fair Shopping Centre and the Southport Chamber of Commerce & Industry, have commenced the exciting new program, Step Out In Southport. The program is aimed at getting business people out of their offices and into the Southport business precinct.
The summer program is now underway and will run until 16 December. It will then take a short break over the Christmas-New Year period, and recommence from 16 January till the end of February 2012.
As part of the Step out In Southport program, organisers are seeking ‘lunchtime legends’ to participate in their Lunchtime Legends Corporate Challenge.
The challenge incorporates a fun run around Southport, taking in some of the picturesque water views along the Broadwater Parklands precinct, and is open to all local business operators, their employees, colleagues, family and friends.
Whether you run for fun or to beat the boss, get a team together and register at http://gclunchtimelegends.com.
But if ‘fun’ and ‘run’ aren’t two words you often use together, there are plenty of other activities on offer as part of the Step out In Southport program. Activities are held between 12 noon and 2pm on most week days and participation is free.
What better reason to push your chair back, step away from the photocopier and head outdoors for a fitness session, yoga class, guest presentation, art exhibit, live music, or a game of giant checkers, scrabble, snakes and ladders or jenga. Visit the website to see the range of activities on offer: http://www.stepoutinsouthport.com.au.
